What Semblature is
Semblature (sem-bluh-cher) is a deduction game. You're given a bench of units, every one identical from the outside, and a set of statements about them. Some of those statements hold. Your job is to work out which, and to arrange the bench so it stands.
The name is built like armature or ligature: sembl-, to seem, plus the suffix that forms assembled structures.
The design rests on three rules it will not break:
- You will never be required to guess. Every puzzle is generated against a verified unique solution, and the evidence always suffices.
- Hints are free and unlimited, and they stop at the evidence. They point at what you haven't used, never at the answer.
- Nothing punishes you. No timers, no lost progress, no failure states that throw work away.
It's single-player and made for PC, built for mouse, controller and the Steam Deck's touchscreen together rather than one of them ported to the others. I won't claim a Deck compatibility rating until the game has earned it on the hardware. It will take about five hours to 100% the Steam achievements, and it will cost $4.99 on Steam.
If that sounds like your kind of puzzle, wishlisting it is the single most helpful thing you can do this early.
